Hello to anyone interested in auditioning for the role of edicine cat apprentice! Glad to see you’re curious, or seeking to join the high ranks to help develop the plot of Shearwater. There are a few requirements before you should begin, however. Since this is only an IC rank, you don’t have to worry about any pesky OOC questions.
Unless you have plans to make your apprentice a “normal/nestmaid” apprentice if you do not get the rank, don’t make your apprentice ahead of time. Sort of saves all the hard work that you’ve done, if it’s just going to be for nothing.
If you have intentions to use this rank / the sight to bring more attention to yourself please don’t consider auditioning at all. We’re all here to have fun, and our importance shouldn’t be measured by our rank. We’re all important to the story, even the ugliest nestmaid.
Name:
Gender:
Age: (preferred they be a kit for the sake of a cool ceremony haha)
Personality: (pros, cons, just to establish if they’d be good for the rank.)
1. Lambberry has finally been able to coax Milknose into the den for treatment, as your mentor begins to do a check up on his health and breathing it’s becoming more and more apparent he’s showing signs of the common cold. Which is the beginning symptom of the White Glare, the warrior just objects that it is nothing but the sniffles and that there is no need for anything extreme. You and Lambberry have excused yourself from the den to discuss the situation, do you trust in your medical ability that it is just the common cold and go with treating the basic illness? Or do you take extreme measures to make sure the disease doesn’t spread into camp?
2. Your mentor is out picking herbs for the day, Pigeonpaw is rushed into the medicine cat den with a twisted ankle and a bloody gash across her flank. It’s been explained there was a scrap between a loner, and the apprentice. But you honestly don’t care about that, you don’t fight you’re just here to heal. What do you do to ensure that the damage done to the apprentice won’t be permanent to her?
3. You’ve been asked to put an elder out of her misery, Mottledsnow is too old and beginning to show health problems. And it’s been requested by Crowstar that she stop wasting valuable herbs on a cat that is already dead, Lambberry has excused himself from the scene due to familial ties and has requested that you do the task for him. What poisonous herbs do you use to grant the she-cat a quick, painless death? Do you coax her, and ensure her it will be alright or do you bitterly wait for it to be over so you can get back to work?
4. Plumnose has come to you with a paw full of thorns, you don’t really care to listen because you may nor may not care but you do know it’s beginning to show signs of infection. What method of action do you do to take care of the warriors paw to prevent the infection from getting worse?
5. Loonsong has gone into labor, and Lambberry is out collecting herbs before the bitter weather strikes the land. What do you do to ensure a safe, and healthy birth so that the queen, and the kit’s lives will not be lost? After the birth, and checking to make sure all the kits are healthy you and the mother both notice one of the kits bear a defect. Loonsong has asked that you kill it, to spare it a life of a nestmaid. Do you bring the kit out into the woods, kill it swiftly or abandon it? Or do you go against Loonsong’s wishes and ask for another queen to foster the kit so that it will grow into another nestmaid for the Clan?
Requirements
The staff team, and myself ask that you be active for the sake of roleplay and character development. And that you keep updated in current plots that the medicine cats will be needed in, we both ask you keep yourself informed via asking myself or a member of the staff team. Please keep in mind if you fail to keep yourself active, or don’t honestly rp a bunch you will be asked to step down so someone can replace you.Unless you have plans to make your apprentice a “normal/nestmaid” apprentice if you do not get the rank, don’t make your apprentice ahead of time.
